Special Needs Services
All families are different; part of your family's difference may be that you have a child with a special need. What is a special need? A special need includes any medical, psychological or social need that requires assistance.
The Special Needs program offers many services to help your special needs child and family cope with the challenges that can arise. These services include but are not limited to: respite, support, liaison, advocacy and representation as well as referral.
Are you and your family being posted or do you know a family that is? If you have children that will be transferring to a new school, the MFRC can help ease the transition by contacting the new school ahead of time, providing parents and children with information, and putting families in touch with the MFRC in the new location. If your child receives special education services, it is vital to contact the new school as far in advance as possible, so that resources can be allocated for your child.
For more information about this program please contact the Winnipeg MFRC at (204) 833-2500 ext. 4500.
If you have any questions or would like more information on these services/resources, email us at wpgmfrc@mfrc.mb.ca or visit our contact page.
