Programs

Francophone and Second Language Services

Francophone services provide resources, translation support and programming in French to the 17 Wing community. Many programs, resources and learning opportunities are provided in both official languages. Francophone ladies meet monthly in a social setting.

Second Language Training Classes are offered in French and English and are ongoing.

Francophone newcomers can enjoy a personal welcome with help in establishing contacts with local French resources.

  • Support language needs and choices of individuals


Service Objectives

  • Civilian spouses and youth have opportunities to learn either of Canada's official languages.

  • CF families have opportunities to learn the predominant official language of their community for day-to-day living.

  • CF families have opportunities to interact with members of their own first language community.

  • Resources and information are available in the official language(s) required by the local CF community.
