About Us
Who are we?
The Canadian Forces (CF) recognize the many challenges facing families every day as a result of the military lifestyle and also recognize the important role played by families in maintaining troop morale. Consequently, the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) was established in 1991 to help the Canadian Military achieve operational readiness by enhancing quality of life and enriching the military experience for families.
Our mission Statement:
To enrich the quality of life for those who share in the unique military lifestyle by providing specialized programs and services to promote health, education and social well-being.
Our values:
- Respect and dignity of people guide everything we do;
- We work in partnership with civilian and Department of National Defence organizations to benefit our community;
- We promote healthy family and communities; and
- We are guided by ethical standards and best practices.
Our vision:
Fostering a community where all military families feel supported.
Our Objectives:
- To promote and enhance the quality of programs and services provided by the Winnipeg MFRC;
- To ensure that high standards of ethical and professional conduct are expected and exhibited;
- To protect the integrity and reputation of the Winnipeg MFRC, its staff and volunteers;
- To promote and protect the health and safety of the Winnipeg MFRC staff, volunteers and clients; and
- To be flexible and responsible in service provision.
So, now that you know us a little better, we sure hope that you will give us a chance to know you too! Drop in at the centre or give us a call, we're looking forward to meeting you and your family.
